Lazy weekend!

I did run...some. I also ate junk and slept and watched movies and rode the motorcycle with one of my favorite people! I did not do laundry until Monday night...the Marines had a 72-hour weekend and my office was closed on Monday, too!

So: Saturday miles: 4.5, Sunday miles: 3 (blech, but in the dark after riding, so I did what I could.)

Goal for this week: 25 miles. Totally do-able. :o)

I did not run today.

It's my second planned day off this week, so I can watch all the shows I've missed this week. I can also talk about the beautiful man who runs on my route without his shirt on. Thank you to the running gods! The man with the ripped abs and pecks and lats. I'm wondering if he would notice me if I circled around to get a second look!

I'm on track to run over 20 miles this week, which isn't such a big deal, but if I end up on track to run over 100 miles this month, that would be quite a triumph. I'm thinking of signing up for the Kentucky Derby mini marathon. Since I've been adding mileage for the last few weeks, I seriously think I could add enough miles to make 13.1 relatively comfortable. Plus, it would give me a really good excuse to come home and see my peeps! And I love Derby time in Louisville!

I accidentally ran 5.5 miles...

Oh, it's true. It just so happens that I am completely directionally challenged. I like maps, and I probably should own a GPS, but I figured that I couldn't get that lost in my own neighborhood, certainly not an entire mile's worth of lost. Au contraire. It was entirely possible to get an entire mile's worth of lost. But it was one of those days where I felt like I could run forever, so I actually added an extra mile to the end, anyway. It's a wonderful time of year. Warm during the day and cool at night. I was noticing smells tonight, different plants and some fragrant roses some planted near the sidewalk I run on, but I keep expecting honeysuckle. It seems like everywhere I go in Kentucky, I can always find that smell. I think 5.5 miles is pretty awesome, so go me!

3 miles at 3 pm

I definitely went running at the worst possible time of day. (Sun beating, forehead sweating, and where are the trees?) But three miles is totally sufficient for a Saturday, and I'm not beating myself up over the mileage. I should have taken a little bottle of water. But the gatorade I made before I left had chilled enough to be a bit colder than lukewarm by the time I got back, which was nice on my parched pallet. I love that in my new neighborhood there are tons of sidewalks, but I am bemoaning the lack of foliage. The nicest thing about running today was smelling my dryer sheet smell, seriously, lavendar and vanilla. Very nice. The breeze was nice, too, but today was definitely a summer afternoon. Maybe tonight will smell like autumn.

Ahhh...Friday!

Today is a planned off day from running, so I'm planning on the following after work, instead (in no particular order):

1. Watch Grey's Anatomy...I missed it last night due to bad timing. See, I thought going a little later to get groceries wouldn't put me behind three of the fullest (most full?) carts of groceries I've ever seen. WRONG. Also, I always get the worst checkout people and someone in front of me always needs a price check. I am never lucky when I don't have time or energy to shop.

2. Go back to the grocery store. Yes, I forgot things, even though I had a list. Also, the store where I went didn't have some things I needed. Food Lion sucks! (But Piggly Wiggly sucks worse.) I smell another post on grocery stores named for animals in my future!

3. ***Maybe*** watch the premier of Stargate Universe with my friend Mike, since it was so important to him that he texted me at 5:37 am. Yes, 0537. That's zero-dark-thirty to me, since I try not to see that hour of the morning.

4. Take a nap. I love naps.

Blogging, seriously??

So, I'm not actually sure how well I'll keep this up, but I like to write and my life goes up and down on the boredom scale. It's pretty low in insanity right now, but I'm running most days, working most days, and sometimes braving grocery stores on Marine Corps payday in a town mostly made of Marines and their families. And I feel stupid posting a lot of this junk on Facebook.
